Hi, I’m Mike Steele.
I am a writer, performer, and director based in Brooklyn, NY. I write plays and solo pieces that combine my love of language with elements of clown, dance-theatre, and good old-fashioned nonsense. I frequently make work as a co-leader of CAROL performance group. Our recent projects have appeared at The Brick, Cannonball Festival, and Exponential Festival. As a director, I enjoy collaborating with playwrights on developing new works and creating innovative interpretations of traditional and unexpected texts. Regionally/Internationally I have performed at numerous theaters in Chicago, Teatr Witkacego in Poland, and on tour through Romania, Hungary, and Moldova. I love participating in new processes.
