I am a director, writer, and performer specializing in creating imaginative, new theatrical spectacles.

I am passionate about developing new work, collaborating on devised processes, and staging bold reinventions of plays from the history of both American and world theatre.

My directing work includes revivals of classic absurdist texts like The Killer by Eugene Ionesco (Trap Door Theatre) as well as interpretations of cutting-edge new plays like Love and Information by Caryl Churchill and Lear by Young Jean Lee. I am equally excited by collaborating with playwrights on new plays such as Hee-Won Kim’s OCD.

I also pursue projects that push beyond the usual definitions of theatre. These include an immersive play experience delivered in a package to your door (Home Edition, Cohen New Works), a choose-your-own adventure tour through the history of escapology (Tourist Trap, The Island), and a live reality show performed on Twitch (Poolboy00, U.T. New Theatre).

I am the former founding Artistic Director of The Island Theatre of Chicago (R.I.P.) and a company member with Trap Door Theatre. Other companies I have worked with include Cabinet of Curiosity, Alchemical Theatre Company, Strawdog Theatre, Collaboraction, Red Tape Theatre, Sideshow Theatre, The Dallas Theater Center, Teatr Witkacy, Oracle Theatre, and Adventure Stage.

From 2020-2021 I served as Associate Producer of The Cohen New Works Festival, the largest student-led performing arts festival in the country. Together we produced and presented 32 original student works that included dance, opera, music, theatre, digital art, and performance art.

Also an educator, I have taught undergraduate courses in acting and directing. Additionally I have led workshops in physical theatre and devising techniques.

I hold an MFA in Directing from U.T. Austin and a BFA in Theatre Studies from Southern Methodist University.
