Mike Steele was born at a young age. Since that time he has devoted many hours to the development of new theatrical performances.

Mike graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University with a B.F.A. in Theatre Studies.  While at SMU, Mike was featured in 8 main stage productions, had his full-length play The Constellations Don’t Have Faces, produced as part of the New Visions New Voices Festival, and completed a 2-year emphasis in both directing and playwriting in addition to his conservatory acting training.

Since that time, he has acted with companies such as Sideshow Theatre, Red Tape Theatre, The Side Project, The Inconvenience, and The Dallas Theatre Center among others.  In October, Mike will be featured in Heist Play with The Ruckus Theatre Company.

Mike Steele was a founding member of The Island Theatre Co. and served as its Artistic Director from 2011-2013.  While working with The Island, Mike helped produce 4 full-length shows along with several workshops and events.  Additionally, he co-wrote and directed their inaugural productionTourist Trap and directed their most recent production The Glass Inward, which was presented during a three-week residency at The Defibrillator Performance Art Gallery in August 2013.
